Sherlockian Ramblings
By Don Hobbs

Things are good in my Sherlockian world. I spent the week editing The Great Whimsical Sherlockian Tour of Oklahoma and Texas documentary. Those wonderful folks putting on The Gaslight Gala, during the upcoming Birthday Celebration Weekend in January, offered me 15 minutes on the program. I figured it would be my 15 minutes of fame in New York City. The task of editing a 60 minute video down to 15 minutes was just too much in the end.

I finally had to beg for 5 more minutes because the shortest I could make the thing was 1,200 second or 20 minutes. Thank the Sherlockian gods because I was given the extra time and thus all is well in my Sherlockian world.

On other equally important news, I have received many entries to The Galactic Sherlock Holmes. The database is now 575 pages, thanks in part to Jeff Katz. He sent me bibliographic information on several Arabic, Czech, Greek, Latvian, and Lithuanian translations. Also contributing was Tim Kline. He brought over several Russian and Spanish translations.

Here is chart of  what's in The Galactic Sherlock Holmes.

As can be seen in the chart above, there are 1,550 De Wall entries and 1,236 Not In De Waal entries. There are more than 2,000 cover scans included in the database.

Finally, my wife Joyce has a new laptop computer that has Abode. She can save my database as a PDF. which mean now longer will I have to find someone at the local computer store to save it for me.  See things are just alright in my little Sherlockian world.

Happy collecting!!
